Why not try this free version of the classic
board game. You play against the computer at different
difficulty settings. Checkers has some sound effects,
including speech. The game is available now as a free download
for Windows 95/98 and Me.
Before playing, you need to download the game and install it.
Checkers 1.3 includes an automatic installer and uninstaller.
The latest version also uses DirectX, so the problems the old
version had with sound and graphics on some machines should be
solved.
A rules section has been added to the game. Press the Rules
button to get detailed information on what rules Checkers does
and does not play.
